Flautas Doradas

If you were wondering, yes I do let my wife use the kitchen, Tuesdays, ha! I love fried food and golden fried Flautas are amazing. Of course the first time cooking them for me she made the chicken the authentic way but since then we just grab a rotisserie and are halfway done. Make sure you warm the tortillas up a little before rolling the chicken and cheese in them so they don’t split to stop you from cussing when making these and they are pretty easy. The prepwork is the only time consuming part but once you have everything ready to go your good to go. Try these “Golden Flutes”, you’ll love them. Good as Gold!

Ingredients

  • Rotisserie Chicken
  • 5 or so Mozzarella string cheeses
  • Yellow Corn Tortillas
  • Lettuce
  • Coconut Oil
  • Avocados
  • Queso Fresco
  • Mexican Crema
  • Sauce of choice, we blend 2 tomatoes, 2 habaneros, and 4 Serrano Peppers.

Directions

  • Shred Chicken, string the cheese.
  • Microwave tortillas 30 seconds or so.
  • Roll chicken with cheese and use a toothpick to hold in rolls.
  • Heat coconut oil to medium in a skillet.
  • Fry the rolls for around 2 minutes per side until dorada “Golden”.
  • Take out the toothpicks, mi esposa said this is a very important step so don’t forget
  • Place the floutas on your serving plate, drizzle with sauce, lettuce, sauce again, queso, crema, and cover with avocado slices.
  • Espero que te guste!
